Craft Your Own Shoes (Package)

 Why you need these workshops:

• If you want to make your own shoes/sandals
• If you want to have an appreciation of local craftsmanship, particularly shoemaking 
• If you want to understand shoe manufacturing and business

What you'll learn:

• Shoemaking basics 
• Choosing a shoe last for your size
• Tracing, cutting and assembling the upper
• Preparing your insoles and outsoles
• Lasting your shoes/sandals
• Attaching the soles
• Adding sock-lining
• Finishing your shoes/sandals

What are the options:

• BASIC LEVEL (PREREQUISITE - Required before intermediate and advanced levels):
• Make your own platformed sandals, or
• Make your own mules
• INTERMEDIATE LEVEL (must do any of the basic level or sandalmaking first):
• Make your own closed shoes (dolls shoes / loafers, / oxfords / derby ), or
• Make your own block-heeled sandals, or
• Make your own block-heeled mules 
• ADVANCED LEVEL (must do at least 1 basic & 1 intermediate level first)
• Make your own stilettos, or
• Make your own wedge, or
• Make your own boots

What we'll provide:

• Upper, lining, insole, outsole, socklining and other materials to create your shoes/sandals
• Full-day workshop instruction by Ms. Tal de Guzman of Risqué Designs
• Side-by-side guidance by our uppermakers and shoemakers (we are 100% fully vaccinated!)
• Use of tools and machines in the studio

Details of the workshop:

• Where: Risqué Designs Manufacturing studio at 121 Malaya St, Malanday, Marikina
• Only bike parking is available, please make arrangements to commute or get dropped off
• When: Please see available schedules in the options
• Duration: 9am to 6pm (lunch break 12-1pm) 

IMPORTANT NOTES: 

• Lunch meal is not included in the fee, but we will direct you to nearby Marikina food spots or you can order through Grab/Food Panda or bring your own food! :) 
• Full-vaccination is required. Kindly send your vaccination card through email (workshopsbytal@gmail.com) or iMessage/Viber at 09175867907 with your proof of payment.
• We only take maximum of 6 persons per day of workshop, for the safety of our students and our team
• And yes it's a full day because shoes are not magically made, it's made with labor of love! :) 
• Please also let us know if you have allergy to dust or adhesives so we can advise you if this workshop is for you, as we will be using a sanding machine and we’ll be making use of shoe adhesives
